Ted Schmiechen’s device masks sudden noises to aid relaxation and sleep.
If, like me, you awaken at the slightest noise, you’ll be excited to hear that our client’s Apparatus for vibration cancellation was recently granted a patent, and is now in production.
This device delivers vibrations to mask sound. It doesn’t just lay a soft white noise over everything; it uses specific vibrations to mask the ones you don’t want to hear, like subwoofers or motorcycles and other big, vibrating sounds. The device produces constant, low-frequency vibrations meant to mask ambient vibrations and soothe a person to sleep.
Similar to noise-generators, a standard vibrating device might reduce noise by producing vibrations that can be felt as well as heard. Ted’s device improves on the current technology by building in a heat sensor into it, so that it switches off when it grows hot. This makes it safe to use in the bed.
